Novak Djokovic: I have an extra motivation because of what happened last year

Novak Djokovic is a happy man because they let him play tennis and because he is two wins away from his 22nd Grand Slam title.

He has made headlines for more than just his tennis ability in the past two years as he stood firm against pressure to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, which led to him being banned from multiple tournaments.

Motivation

As well as injuries, it seems that Djokovic is using that frustration to his advantage in 2023.

"I always want to win and I go for it, especially when it comes to the Grand Slams. But it's clear that this year I have an extra motivation because of the injury, what happened last year.... I want to do well. So far, I haven't lost a match in Adelaide and I haven't lost a match in Melbourne".
