Labour U-turns on flagship 28bn green prosperity plan
Labour has u-turned on its flagship 28 billion-a-year green prosperity plan - blaming the Conservative government for crashing the economy and pushing up interest rates.
Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said Labour will now ramp up toward the collosal spending pledge - which would have relied on borrowing - dropping the commitment to invest the sum immediately.
Labour has previously said an 8 billion national wealth fund would result in a zero-carbon economy made in Britain and has committed to invest 28 billion a year in the so-called green economy.
