Gavin Newsom Brushes Off Concerns About Joe Biden's Age
Benzinga California Governor Gavin Newsom has come forward to back President Joe Biden amid age-related apprehensions, describing him as a seasoned pro.
What Happened: Newsom,during an interview with CNNs Dana Bash, came out in strong support of Biden as poll showed worries about the presidents age and his possibility of reelection in 2024.
Newsom said Biden is a seasoned pro who knows how to get thingsdone and lauded the accomplishments of the current administration.
"I want a seasoned pro that knows how to get things done," he said.
"I'm a little old fashioned. I want a guy who produces results and the results are in, it's been a masterclass."
"There's simply no administration in my lifetime that's been more effective producing more substantive results and we haven't even started the campaign," he added.
The Governor also endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the ideal running mate for Biden in the 2024 ticket. "Of course she is," Newsom said when asked if Harris is the best person to be on the ticket with Biden in 2024.
