Wrexham announce United Airlines as shirt sponsor as Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds reveal news
Wrexham AFC have announced that United Airlines, the American-based air carrier, will be their new front-shirt sponsor for the upcoming EFL League 2 season.
One of the club's co-owners, Ryan Reynolds, put out a cryptic tweet of a wordmark which read 'Wrexham United' that was captioned 'Yes. This. Is. Happening.'
As fans of the club speculated that this meant Reynolds and his fellow owner, Rob McElhenney, were planning to change the club's name - they got their answer two hours later.
'That tweet needs some explanation,' McElhenny said in a video, continuing saying, 'When we tweeted "Wrexham United" we forgot to include a super important ampersand.'
