Wales 0-2 Iran: 10-man Dragons fall to stoppage time defeat to dampen World Cup hopes
Iran scored twice in stoppage time to boost their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup knockout stages with their deserved win over Wales.
Both nations went into this game ideally needing a win to give themselves a better chance of reaching the knockout stages of the World Cup.
This made for a very tense group game. Iran were arguably the better side in the first half but the best chance fell Kieffer Moore’s way. The striker’s shot from close range was saved.
Iran came on strong in the second half and they struck the post twice in a matter of seconds in the 52nd minute as the game somehow remained level.
