Wales were pitch perfect as they arrived at the World Cup as Warren Gatlands side delivered an impressive version of Calon Lan and columnist Dan Biggar took a star turn.
As they had done at their welcome ceremonies at both the 2015 and 2019 tournaments, Wales took to the stage to performance a traditional hymn.
For 2023, rookie prop Corey Domachowski took the lead for a Welsh rugby classic which went down a storm in the glittering Salon de l'Hotel de Ville in Versailles.
Fly-half Biggar who plays his club rugby for Toulon wowed the dignitaries in attendance at the glitzy venue on the outskirts of Paris by thanking the locals for their welcome in fluent French.
Biggar said: It was amazing, wasnt it? Thats what World Cups and coming to amazing places like this are all about. Its been a long, long build-up for us through the summer and everyone has talked about the World Cup for a long time. Everybody is just really glad its here.
It was pretty nerve-racking (speaking French), especially because I havent been in France for a few months now. It was a little bit rusty. In France its really nice to show a little bit of willing.
