Tony Mowbray says Sunderland have found a 'rarity' in Joe Anderson

Tony Mowbray believes Sunderland have signed a real 'rarity' in Joe Anderson, and he's looking forward to developing his talent.

Anderson joined Sunderland on deadline day on a permanent deal from Everton, with him signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with an option to extend it by a further 12 months.

The 21-year-old will go straight into Sunderland's first-team squad, which could pave the way for Bailey Wright to leave.

Mowbray, though, believes Anderson is a real find given the natural balance he can bring to a defence - even if Sunderland will have to wait a while to see the best of him.
