TCU offensive linesman Steve Avila hopes to drafted by Dallas Cowboys so he can stay at home
Highly-rated NFL draft prospect Steve Avila has revealed his intentions to start off his professional career with the Dallas Cowboys, his hometown team, even though he knows, himself, that he doesn't really get to have a say in the matter.
The 23-year-old, former TCU offensive linesman, who's from the Dallas suburb of Arlington, told TMZ Sports that 'it would be honestly, like, the best,' if the silver and blue selected him in next month's draft from April 27-29.
'I've been home my whole career,' said Avila, referring to playing high school football in Grand Prairie, Texas, before playing for the Horned Frogs from 2018-2022. 'So we'll see if we can keep the streak doing.'
The six-foot-four,330-poud center, who can also play guard, might end up getting his way, as the Cowboys are in search for a new left guard after Connor McGovern chose to test free agency.
