Sandro Tonali reveals Newcastle struggles and explains viral Wetherspoons trip
Sandro Tonali admitted he was a bit lost when he first moved to Newcastle from AC Milan this summer - with the Italian facing an emotional, thrilling return to the San Siro.
The 23-year-old returns to his former club just three months after the Geordies bought him from his home town club for 55million. Italian international Tonali has confirmed the move from home was difficult but thanked Eddie Howe and his team-mates for their support and putting a smile on face.
He grew up a Milan fan with his ultra dad, Giandomenico, who still goes to every game, and had the chance to be a one-club Milan legend. Instead he is part of Newcastles Champions League revolution and has now settled on Tyneside - even explaining his visit to a Newcastle Wetherspoons pub in August.
Tonali said: This summer has been hard and Ive had a difficult start. At the beginning it was not easy to find my place, but I have found people to support me and to help me and I started to be happier.
