'It would be sad to see Granit Xhaka leave - he became an important part of the team'
Arsenal spent the most days ever (248) on top of the Premier League without winning it in a season where nobody expected them to challenge for English football's greatest prize.
The lack of silverware was still disappointing considering the strides the young side have made under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta.
Some have classed the season a failure, but Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva told Daily Star Sport he looks at their second-placed finish and Champions League qualification as a success.
"I look at it as a success, not many people expected Arsenal to challenge for the title especially against Manchester City," the Brazilian said.

"Of course, everybody is disappointed on missing out on the opportunity to become champions especially because they've been waiting for this moment for such a long time, they were so close but in the end, they were so far.
"We have to look back on how we began this season, we can consider it a success especially because Arsenal are back in the Champions League after such a long time."
