Ralph Hasenhuttl is 'a serious contender for the Everton job' but Marcelo Bielsa is the No 1 choice

Ralph Hasenhuttl has emerged as a contender to take over the vacant Everton manager job according to reports.

The former Southampton boss is thought to be a serious contender for the position at Goodison Park according to SkySports, although ex-Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa is still believed to be the 'No 1 choice' of owner Farhad Moshiri.

Frank Lampard was sacked as Everton boss on Monday, with the club stuck in the relegation zone, and the club already held talks with Bielsa over taking over, although it would appear there is still a chance for the Austrian.

Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that Hasenhuttl was in the running to become the new Toffees boss, after Bielsa had been already linked to the position.
