A stirring second-half comeback saw a penalty from Andr-Pierre Gignac and a header from Sebastin Crdova level the tie, with Pizarro heading in the winner to secure Tigres first title since the Clausura 2019.

As well as a shiny trophy to keen in the boardroom, and winners medals for each of the players involved, Tigres will have their names plastered all over the headlines, which may lead to extra marketing opportunities. They will also earn the added prestige that comes with nudging their way up the list of Mexicos most successful clubs and perhaps even the extra pull to sign players that might not necessarily have been interested in joining before.
