The Auriazules captain also proved to be the Clausura 2023 matchwinner, a scenario which appeared unlikely, to say the least, when Robert Siboldis side found themselves 2-0 down to Chivas after 20 minutes of the second leg. A stirring second-half comeback saw a penalty from Andr-Pierre Gignac and a header from Sebastin Crdova level the tie, with Pizarro heading in the winner to secure Tigres first title since the Clausura 2019.
