Erling Haaland netted a clinical treble to help Manchester City ease past Wolves, and hotshot striker Harry Kane equalled Jimmy Greaves' all-time goalscoring record for Tottenham with a ruthless finish in a 1-0 win against Fulham.

West Ham beat struggling Everton - leading to the Toffees sacking manager Frank Lampard - and Aston Villa edged out Southampton in a contentious 1-0 win.

The clean sheets continued for Newcastle and Kieran Trippier after a stalemate with Crystal Palace, while Liverpool and Chelsea, Leeds and Brentford also played out goalless draws.

Brighton, shorn of winger Leandro Trossard, scored late to rescue a point against Leicester, while promoted sides Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth drew 1-1.
