Former cross-code star Mat Rogers has backed Eddie Jones' bold decision to drop veterans Michael Hooper and Quade Cooper ahead of the World Cup in France.
Rogers, 47, made his NRL debut with the Sharks in 1995 before he was enticed to defect and play for the Wallabies under Jones ahead of the 2003 World Cup on home soil.
He told Wide World of Sports he wasn't surprised Hooper and Cooper were omitted, pointing to 'horrific' results the past decade.
'Do we want to keep picking the same players and get the same results,' Rogers asked.
'I don't want to sound harsh, but the reality is we haven't got the results that we wanted as a nation over the last 10-12 years.
