Newcastle fans stranded at San Siro in 'shambolic' incident after Champions League match

Thousands of Newcastle fans were left stranded at the San Siro after Milan's metro service was suspended on Tuesday evening.

The Magpies played out a goalless draw against AC Milan in Italy, with thousands of supporters travelling from the UK to watch their club's first Champions League game in two decades. Newcastle were tipped to lose but defied the odds against the Italians.

Yet the evening descended into chaos when Newcastle fans left the San Siro. The stadium's metro line was suspended, leaving fans facing a two-hour walk back to the city centre. Others could've been forced to walk even further depending on their hotel's location.
