Manchester United's summer strategy is to buy front-line striker before any other business

Manchester United's No 1 priority this summer is to acquire an elite striker to spearhead their attack next season.

Mail Sport understands that United are pursuing numerous options to lead their line in 2023-24, prioritising a striker ahead of reinforcements in other areas.

Harry Kane and Napoli's Victor Osimhen are among the names who have been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer. Erik Ten Hag has been on the hunt for a new frontman ever since Cristiano Ronaldo's acrimonious departure in November.

The club opted for a short-term solution in the January transfer window and snapped up Wout Weghorst on a loan for the remainder of the season, only for the 30-year-old to fail to make a mark. He will return to parent club Burnley.
