England boss Southgate admits it would be ‘brave decision’ to rest Kane for ‘very different’ test
England boss Gareth Southgate has admitted that it would be a “brace decision” to rest Harry Kane for Friday’s group game versus the United States.
Kane suffered a knock after a poor challenge by Morteza Pouraliganji in Englands 6-2 victory against Iran on Monday the national teams biggest-ever win at the start of a major tournament.
The Tottenham star, who has a history of ankle issues, played on for 25 minutes but was seen limping after the game and went for a scan.
However, Kane has returned to training without issue and Southgate suggested his captain will feature from the start on Friday.
Harrys good, he said. He came through training, no problems, so it would be a brave decision to leave him out of the starting team.
