Emery leads Aston Villa into the Conference League with victory over Brighton
Aston Villa will be in Europe once again as Unai Emery oversaw one of the biggest turnarounds in club history, taking over mid-season and steering them into the Conference League.
Villa sacked Steven Gerrard before the World Cup and Emery arrived at Villa Park with the club in 17th place in the Premier League table, despite having pre-season expectations of securing European football.
Brighton and Hove Albion arrived to Villa Park having already secured their own continental adventure in 2023/24, albeit in the Europa League, and Villa have now joined them by winning 2-1.
