Eduardo Mudo Aguirre set for Cruz Azul switch
Eduardo Mudo Aguirre is expected to join Cruz Azul ahead of the Apertura 2023 tournament, according to TUDNs Alan Lara. He will become the second new arrival following the signing of Carlos Salcedo, who joined from Santos.
The Mexican forward is the first acquisition in the Celeste attack which needs to be reinforced following the departures of two players whose loan contracts have expired: Gonzalo Carneiro, who has returned to Sion and Michael Estrada, who is back with Toluca.
Aguirre hardly featured at all in the Clausura 2023 - he underwent surgery for a discal hernia problem in January. His only appearance for Santos Laguna was in the 0-3 defeat to Toluca - a game in which he was sent off. He reappeared in April, coming on as a substitute for the final 25 minutes of the penultimate regular season game against Quertaro.
