Tickets for Sunday's NFC title game between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers are on course to go down as the most expensive in NFL conference championship history.

The Eagles and 49ers will battle it out for a place in next month's Super Bowl atLincoln Financial Field, and fans are forking out record sums to be there.

Ticketmaster's general sale, which represented the cheapest way for buyers to secure a seat, was wiped out in a matter of minutes after thousands flocked to the website on Tuesday morning.

Any fans still wishing to attend will now need to go through the secondary market, where tickets are averaging at a record price of $2,468, according to industry search engine TicketIQ (via Yahoo).
