Cristiano Ronaldo becomes first man to score in five World Cups with goal vs Ghana
Cristiano Ronaldo has become the only player in the history of men's football to score in five World Cups following his penalty for Portugal against Ghana on Thursday.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner missed two good opportunities in the first half and saw another effort ruled out for a foul, but won a penalty early in the second period and fired it into the corner to give Portugal the lead in their Group H clash.
Earlier this week, Lionel Messi joined Ronaldo in a select group of players to have scored in four World Cups – along with Brazilian legend Pele and German icons Uwe Seeler and Miroslav Klose.
