Boston Celtics' Grant Williams has surgery on his left hand as he enters restricted free agency
Grant Williams had surgery on his left hand Friday - but is expected back in time for training camp, the Celtics announced.
Boston said that the procedure was to 'repair a tear of the radial collateral ligament of the third metacarpo-phalangeal joint on his left hand.'
Williams is expected to be sidelined 6-8 weeks by the procedure, which puts him on track to be ready for training camp, which opened on September 27 for all teams this season.
According to ESPN, Williams actually suffered the hand injury in March but played through the injury as the Celtics came one win short of the NBA Finals.
