Aston Villa are moving for Sporting Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves.

A Bola says Villa are launching a bid for the Portugal international.

Villa are in talks with Sporting for Pote, who has a contract to 2026 and which carries a buyout clause of 80m.

Villa and Sporting are pleased with the progress of negotiations at this stage.

A move to Villa Park would mean a return to the region for Pote, who is a former Wolves academy player.
