High street alive and kicking, says Crew Clothing boss

The boss of Crew Clothing has declared that Britains High Street is by no means dead after shoppers bought Christmas party outfits in droves.

The British preppy clothing firm saw total sales swell 15 per cent in the seven weeks to January 8, driven by a post-pandemic return of festive socialising.

Online partnerships with big names including John Lewis and Next helped to boost digital sales.

Although shoppers face rises in household bills, the retailer said it has seen strong sales growth in January so far and has snapped up market share.
