Energy Sector Update for 06/09/2023: SHEL, TTE, NI

Energy stocks were lower on Friday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index decreasing 0.1% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.4%.

The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index was posting a 0.7% decline and the Dow Jones US Utilities index was falling 0.3%.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil was declining 0.4% to $71.01 a barrel while the global benchmark Brent crude contract was dropping 0.3% to $75.72 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures were 2.8% lower at $2.29 per 1 million BTU.
