American Fidelity STEM Teacher Fellowship Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for the American Fidelity STEM Teacher Fellowship program.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, UNITED STATES, January 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Applications are now open for the American Fidelity STEM Teacher Fellowship program.

The AF Teacher Fellowship program gives teachers the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a corporate IT setting, as well as network with other teachers, learning knowledge and skills that they can then take back to their classrooms to help students prepare for technology-based careers.

Resources, student impact, collaboration between IT leadership and fellow teachers are just a few of the things Im able to take back to my students, Edmond Public Schools teacher and 2022 fellow Penny Antkowiak said. With this fellowship, teachers can get students excited about IT careers.

Applications for this years program are open to third- through 12th-grade STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) teachers and are due by Feb. 24.

The selected candidates will work in American Fidelitys software development, IT security, data or technical infrastructure areas for the summer, earning $30 per hour. Additionally, the teachers receive a $2,000 stipend for their classrooms upon completion of the program. There is also built-in flexibility, with up to two weeks of unpaid time off available.

The 2023 class begins on June 6 and plans to welcome 15 teachers, becoming one of the largest program classes to date. Interested teachers can find more information and apply atamericanfidelity.com/about-us/af-teacher-fellowship/.

Qualified applicants will be required to attend a hiring event on March 17. The 2023 program aims to have onsite collaboration at American Fidelity headquarters in Oklahoma City as often as possible but will remain flexible to virtual options as needed.
