Mets star Pete Alonso (wrist) misses his 1st game this season - ESPN
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, who leads MLB in home runs and the National League in RBIs, missed his first game of the season on Thursday because of a bruised wrist.
Alonso wasn't in the lineup against the Atlanta Braves one day after he was hit in his left wrist by the Braves' Charlie Morton in the first inning on Wednesday.
X-rays on Alonso's wrist were negative on Wednesday, but he had a CT scan Thursday morning before leaving the team and returning to New York for an MRI and further testing.
