Trey Lance is ready to fight and wants to carry the Niners to glory
The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their OTAs and quarterback Trey Lance and linebacker Curtis Robinson were caught up in a conversation about returning to work, per ESPN report. It was during this exchange that Lance had an epiphany about the joy he felt being back on the field.
"I really feel like I'm having fun playing football again," Lance exclaimed. "Those first few years, especially my first year and then last year, were tough... But now, I finally feel like I'm able to just have fun and enjoy it again."
Lance's journey back to the 49ers' offseason program has been marked by frustration due to a series of injuries that significantly impacted his first two seasons in the NFL. In 2021, a fractured right index finger plagued him longer than expected, leading to mechanical adjustments that Lance has only recently overcome. Then, as he was promoted to starter in 2022, a fractured right ankle in a Week 2 victory against the Seattle Seahawks abruptly ended his season.
