49ers superstar Samuel hated watching film from his 2022 season

Deebo Samuel followed up his exceptional 2021 season with a very good 2022 campaign. But "very good" isn't good enough for the San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver.

Samuel on Wednesday told reporters that last season was "awful," and he hopes not to repeat it in 2023 -- when the 49ers figure to be in Super Bowl contention again.

Samuel bemoans "sluggish" season

Samuel, an All-Pro in 2021, saw his numbers decline across the board in 2022. One season after accruing 1,770 scrimmage yards and 14 total touchdowns, Samuel recorded only 864 total yards and five touchdowns in 13 games as he battled through knee, ankle, and hamstring injuries.
